Paid off my C5 Z06 today. Took less than two years thanks to laughably-low interest rates. Now it is officially mine and not Penfed’s!

Here’s a pic from the day I picked it up.

Short backstory, I looked all over the continental US and almost flew out to Colorado to drive a yellow C5Z home. Fortunately , this one popped up for sale less than 10 minutes from my house and just happened to be exactly what I was looking for.

It’s been on r oad trips, track days, beach days, even sees commuter duty, and I’m still loving it . S ince warm weather is approaching, I’ll probably drive the Z more and neglect the Subaru :)

Woooooo!

I’m halfway to paying off my FoST this month. It’s been less than two years in on a 5 year loan. I might pay it all off this summer and be done with it as a monthly expense . Not only.are interest rates low, but the bank I got the loan through gave me cash bonuses for "doing business with them" as an attempt to get me.to open a checking account. So the first two payments were covered by the bank.

It looks like it might be in the mid 50s on Saturday. That’s technically top down weather, although still pretty chilly.

My Miata needs tires and I’m hoping to get that sorted soon. They passed inspection in the fall but just barely and now one of them has a slow leak. So I might very well be in the Fiat this weekend. Still fun, but it’s an automatic.

I'd be up for some Pine Barrens driving if you know the good roads, or just meeting up at the Pic-a-lilli for dinner on Saturday if that interests you. I'd be coming down from Allentown PA.

Wow, well done! Certainly won’t say no to some free bank money, I’m guessing it's a small local bank? My timeline was similar.

No, actually, it was 5/3 bank. But it was local promotions to try and lure business away from PNC since PNC has a massive skyscraper in our downtown so 5/3 bought a ballpark and gave 300$ each for a savings and checking account. So I got both and held a car payment in each until the required time was up and then paid some payments and then got two additional payments (my minimum car payment was 315$ for the FoST.....of course the recalculated amount is in the low 100s by now)
